The World of Azimuth

Azimuth is a world of endless skies, where Cloudgazer, Azimuth Skies and other associated fiction is set.

An Introduction

In Azimuth, there is no ground. Humans live on cities of floatrock, or sail the skies on antimass airships. Far below rages the impenetrable Understorm, while above shines the sun and the 12 moons; the brightest being Mygos and Thiros. Most of the people in this world speak a language called Azbuka, sometimes transmitted over distances of kilometres by shortwave and across vast nations and seas via transpulse.

Brief History of Azimuth

Long ago, in a time called the Gold Age, the world was at peace. Then came the Collapse, and ever since the world hasn't been the same. The ancient nation of Azrune, its power waned to a shadow of its Gold Age apex, sits by idly as young new nations clash; fleets of airships and skyfighters meeting headlong in bloody battle.

At the turn of the 94th Century, Great Brazak was locked in a bitter war with Ganzabar. Great Brazak eventually lost the war, becoming divided into two occupied provinces. After some years of occupation, western Brazak incited a full-blown rebellion with the help of the United Sky Kingdoms. This conflict, known as the Liberation War, resulted in the independence of Brazak West by 9317.

It is now 9329. Ambitious individuals have plans that may soon engulf the Nezzu region in war once again.
