Airship

An airship is a craft that uses Antimass or some other negative ballast (eg. lifting gases) as the primary means to control its altitude. They are typically propelled by turbines or megaprops, powered by Vapour Drive. Some airships also utilise aerofoils or repulsors in conjunction with antimass. Airships are ubiquitous throughout Azimuth.

In common terms, airships are generally vessels over 5 tonnes and can be anything up to 10,000. They are classified by tonnage and attributes, typically operated by a crew greater than 1 and are used for just about every role from minelayers to mobile fortresses; cruise liners to cargo ships.

Naming

Airships are generally significant enough to have a given name, although Culku'lon ships are numbered like their cities. Where part of a fleet or force, the name will be prefixed by several letters designating their origin.
