Local Air Militias are settlement-based forces intended to defend their local airspace. They typically draw their members from residents and do not engage in military campaigning, although they are often supplemented or composed of government military forces. LAMs vary from place to place, with some (such as the Lystrata Commonwealth) not using them at all. Others; notably the Valya Free States and, to a degree, Azrune; rely on them heavily.
